Williams Guard Defences Posting on the Arm
In the last plan, we looked at how to counter an opponent that is posting on the ground to square up to you.
As I said before, posting on the ground is usually a bad idea.
Consequently, a smarter BJJ player will post on your bicep to square up.
Posting on the bicep is a much better option. However, it can still be countered.
Let's get into the plan
Speed Drill #3: Williams Guard Side to Switch (2 min ea)
Technical Drill #1: Arm bar against bicep post (shown in video above 3 min ea)
Specific Training #1: Arm bar from closed guard (not straight, reset when you sweep, submit, or lose position, 3 min ea)
Specific Training #2: Williams Guard (reset when you sweep, submit, or lose position, 3 min ea)
Focus on getting to the Arm Bar and completing it.
