John Houston

 

I started Boxing at the age of 14, and so began a lifelong love affair with the sport and health and fitness in general. I boxed as an amateur for several years before taking my coaching qualifications and progressed to training with a number of professional boxers and coaches in the UK and on travels in America and New Zealand.

 

I have been coaching for 20 years and working as a full-time Personal Trainer and Boxing Coach for 16 years. I try and employ the techniques and skills of professional boxing coaching tailored to suit any individual, whether they be looking to box professionally or just gain the fitness and conditioning benefits a boxing programme can bring.

 

I work with professional boxers as a fully qualified British Boxing Board of Control Trainer and Second as well as people looking to move their fitness along at any level.

 

I also like to be imaginative and challenging in the training programmes I develop with people and am always looking at new techniques and innovations in fitness, boxing and nutrition to bring conditioning and performance benefits to my clients.

 

I started the South Moreton Boxing Club fifteen years ago to provide a high-quality training environment for people to find the best level of health and fitness for them. As well as providing a friendly club environment to train in, we have worked to assemble a very high quality team of professionals who can offer top quality coaching and Sports Therapies to people from the professional athlete to those just looking to lose a few pounds and enjoy exercise again.
