Performance Jiu-Jitsu is the passion project of Simon Squires, a competitor and instructor. With vast experiences in jiu jitsu, Simon started the development and framework in early 2020 for the academy that has become the performance Jiu-Jitsu team.
Performance Jiu-Jitsu is for everyone; we are focused on establishing a family-friendly, inclusive environment for athletes with all levels of skill and interest in the sport. With a curriculum designed for anyone at every level, Performance Jiu-Jitsu seeks to empower all its members and help them achieve their goals on and off the mats. BJJ is for everybody. It doesn’t matter whether you are young or old, male or female, fit or out of shape. Jiu Jitsu is for you, regardless of your level of physical capability. Anyone can benefit from BJJ classes. Everyone is welcome to come and train, no matter what team they’re affiliated with. We made it our mission to provide everyone with the best possible environment in which to learn and practice Jiu Jitsu.
Classes at the club are led by Simon Squires (awarded Draig coach of the year 2023) under professors Chris Rees, Ash Williams and Josh Williams.
